Gujjar Logistics, a growing name in the UK logistics sector, is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Birmingham. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the financial health of our fast-paced logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including ledgers, balance sheets, and profit & loss statements

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and invoicing

  • Perform bank reconciliations and monthly financial reporting

  • Handle payroll and HMRC submissions

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and industry-specific accounting standards

  • Work closely with the operations team to monitor logistics costs and improve financial efficiency

  • Support external audits and liaise with external accountants when required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably within a logistics or transport company

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, VAT, and UK tax laws

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (ACCA or CIMA certification is a plus)
